The adaptor you see on your left is called a combined charging system (CCS2). With the exception of very few vehicles in the indian market, majority of EVs that are currently in the market and vehicles that are being launched have adopted the CCS fast charging

Following are the five pins you find on this type of adaptor

  • PP - Proximity Pilot - Detects connection status to the vehicle
  • CP - Control Pilot - Charge control and communication
  • PE - Protective earth/Ground (Chassis)
  • DC+ - Direct Current positive pIn - Pushes more electricity into your batteries in less amount of time
  • DC- - Direct Current negative pin - Pushes more electricity into your batteries in less amount of time
